Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five per cent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to City of Conway, Arkansas, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of Contract to him. The notice of award of Contract shall be given by the Owner within sixty (60) days following the opening of bids. The successful Bidder must furnish a performance bond and a separate payment bond upon the forms provided herein in the amount of one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. The attention of bidders is called to the fact that Act 150 of 1965 (as amended), Arkansas Statutes, states that a Contractor must be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Contractors before he may undertake work when the cost thereof in Arkansas is Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) or more. The Faulkner County Solid Waste Management District will submit at grant change order for the 2009 ADEQ Solid Waste Recycling Grant number FCR03-09. The Change Order will modify the amount of $24,802.75 from the original allocation of $54,000.00 to be categorized from 真Transfer Station with Recycling真 to 真Recycling Equipment真. This will allow the City of Conway to utilize funds for the purchase of a fork lift to manage recyclables in Conway's Recycling Center rather than utilizing the funds to construct a transfer station off premises of Conway's current facility.
