NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids addressed to City of Conway will be received at the Mayor's Office, Conway City Hall, Conway, Arkansas (1201 Oak Street, Conway, Arkansas 72032) for Old Military Rd. & Nutter Chapel Rd. Street & Drainage Improvements with the segments of the project to be opened and publicly read aloud at the following times for:
PROJECT 1 (McNutt Rd. to Nutter Chapel Rd) to be opened at 10:00 am Thursday February 9, 2012.
PROJECT 2 (Nutter Chapel Rd to New Elementary School) to be opened at 2:00 pm Thursday February 9, 2012.
Project 1 includes earthwork, crushed stone base course, concrete curb and gutter, asphalt paving, sidewalk, storm drainage pipe, and related work for approximately 5,200 feet of 27 or 36 curbed street construction along Old Military Road from McNutt Road to Nutter Chapel Road and approximately 1,800 feet of Donnell Ridge Road Relocation.
Project 2 includes earthwork, crushed stone base course, concrete curb and gutter, asphalt paving, sidewalk, storm drainage pipe, and related work for approximately 1,500 feet of 36 curbed street construction along Old Military Road from Nutter Chapel Road to the New Elementary School and approximately 2,500 feet of Nutter Chapel Road from the Pebble Beach Dr. to Old Military Road.
Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five per cent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to City of Conway, Arkansas, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of Contract to him. The notice of award of Contract shall be given by the Owner within sixty (60) days following the opening of bids.
The successful Bidder must furnish a performance bond and a separate payment bond upon the forms provided herein in the amount of one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner.
The attention of bidders is called to the fact that Act 150 of 1965 (as amended), Arkansas Statutes, states that a Contractor must be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Contractors before he may undertake work when the cost thereof in Arkansas is Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) or more.
Plans, specifications, proposal forms and other contract documents may be examined and obtained at the Mayor's Office, Conway City Hall, 1201 Oak Street, Conway, Arkansas (phone 501-450-6110). The charge for a set of plans and specification is $35.
Proposals will be considered on the basis of cost, the bidder's financial responsibility, his equipment, and his past performance in completing similar work. The City of Conway reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be for their best interest.

The Faulkner County Solid
Waste Management District
will submit at grant change
order for the 2009 ADEQ
Solid Waste Recycling Grant
number FCR03-09.
The Change Order will modify the amount of $24,802.75 from the original allocation of $54,000.00 to be categorized from 真Transfer Station with Recycling真 to 真Recycling Equipment真. This will allow the City of Conway to utilize funds for the purchase of a fork lift to manage recyclables in Conway's Recycling Center rather than utilizing the funds to construct a transfer station off premises of Conway's current facility.
The FCSWMD Board members approved this change by written vote as documented on Thursday, December 29, 2011.
